4 Best Joystick and Steering Wheels I have Tried

By

Everyone likes game controllers!

Everyone likes playing games. Especially pc games. Pc games with joysticks. And with the pries of joysticks and steering wheels dropping, you can buy joysticks and steering wheels for a reasonable price.

The thing that makes joysticks and steering wheels so attractive is the fact that you
can feel the game, whether it is racing, driving, or even a flight simulator. Those game controllers give you full control of the PC and PS2 games.

I'm writing this as a review of the best joysticks and steering wheels to buy. I've bought a lot since I was 12 and been using them for a long time.

Check out my site about steering wheels here.

My first not cheap steering wheel controller

Now, my first game controller was a steering wheel. I cannot remember the name, but I knew it was well known. And I still can't forget the price I paid for the PC racing joystick. A good $100 at that time. And the bad thing was that it wasn't a USB steering wheel. I couldn't play it.

My Genius joystick and steering wheel choices

Then I waited for 4 years. My parents simply didn't let me buy another one. The prices where too high.

But two years ago, I bought a Genius MaxFighter F-16 for $19. I wanted to play with it the Flight Simulator X. It said in the software that a flight simulator joystick would give me a better control over the game. Sadly it didn't. It was broken. But good thing I bought it from Carrefour as they get anything back.

So I changed it for another Genius joystick with the name Genius Metal Strike Pro Joystick (Black/Blue) for $50. 11 or 12 buttons .But this one had vibration feedback and twisting stick. It was fun. It had a throttle trigger too:) And it worked on a laptop.

Then I wanted to try steering wheels again. Since I knew Genius was good, I went and bought a Genius steering wheel Genius Twin Vibration Feedback F1 Racing Wheel for $40. I played for 4 months and then it BROKE. For some reason, it made the car turn right without me doing anything. I ended up breaking the thing. It didn't work on my laptop either.

Then I went to buy another one with a brand name of Hiteck. This was cheaper and with a transmision and handbrake aside. This was for $27. Although not that sensitive in some games, this thing was fun. If you pressed the ANALOG button, it became sensitive again. It was also a PS2 steering wheel and a PC steering wheel with vibration feedback. It had a USB port to the computer so you could play it anywhere. This thing didn't work on a laptop though.

NOTE: If you have a LAPTOP, go for a joystick.

left my joystick in Turkey with my uncle. That is why I bought another joystick a couple of days ago. Actually, I bought two. Again from Carrefour. I told you, if anything goes wrong, I can always return it or get a refund. It is an advantage really.

One was a "made in China" dual controller with a name Vmax. It looks exactly like a PS2 controller, but has a USB port cable. Plug and play. It costs $10. 12 buttonsNice game controller, but I felt that the controls where not as accurate at the beginning, when I played it on my Flight Simulator. It come out that I had to press the "ANALOG" button for maximum accuracy. I did and the joystick responded fine, but then the assigned controls where changed. Now it woks fine, but I don't use the ANALOG button.

The other one I bought was a Logitech Attack 3 Joystick. USB port. many functions but not twisting joystick. Shame for a good controller to not have a twisting stick. This didn't let me control the rudder on the simulator. Still, it has 11 buttons. The price is $37.

Then I tried another Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick (Silver/Black). The price was $50 when I checked it the last time at my friend's house.

All the joysticks I talked about are USB port ones( the steering wheels had a PS2 cable too) and where plug and play.

You decide which one you want. If I buy another one, I'll write about it too.

NOTE: If you buy from amazon.com , it is much more cheaper. But I prefer going to Carrefour and seing the game controllers with my hands before buying. IT is up to you.
